ABOUT JAN

Jan Johnsen began her professional life in Japan in a landscape architecture office. She came back to the U.S. and worked for a Versailles-trained French gardener where she learned European horticulture techniques. She has been a principal in a landscape design /build firm, Johnsen Landscapes & Pools, based in Westchester, NY, for over 30 years. Her award-winning natural design approach is evident in the landscapes that she shares in her books, Heaven is a Garden, The Spirit of Stone, and the new 2019 book, Gardentopia.
