Thomas Cummins will be using his residency to create a new portfolio by using Bethany’s building, its 25 acres and the greater town of Ossining as his subjects. He will be shooting large-format panoramic nocturnal photographs focusing on how the exterior environment necessarily shapes our interior. This exhibition will present his new works and include a discussion of his photography

Kong Ho draws rich artistic inspiration from Bethany’s grounds and nearby Ossining as he explores how detachment from familiar dwelling and attachment to this new region affect his ongoing floral-spiral paintings. His completed paintings will form part of an end of residency exhibit. During the evening, he will give a talk sharing his artistic journey at the Bethany.

Bruna Amaro dos Santos, Brazilian artist, will be working on an installation project entitled Maneater in which banners will be exhibited with reinterpretations of European art paintings showing women staging victorious scenes in the face of male violence. This exhibition will include an installation of her works and an opportunity to hear her perspectives as a young female artist from South America.
