Ferry Sloops Spring Lecture Series: “The S.S. Columbia Project”

May 1, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The SS Columbia Project

Ferry Sloops’ lecture series continues with a presentation on the restoration and operation of America’s oldest surviving passenger steamer, the National Landmark Vessel “S.S. Columbia” by the project’s Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bob Elliott. The operating Columbia will restore an historic transportation link between New York City and the Hudson River Valley by carrying students and tourists up the Hudson River on day trips, allowing them to enjoy the cultural, natural, and historically important resources of the region. Imagine what it will be like to journey on the restored 1902 passenger steamer S.S. Columbia as she steams north from New York City into the majestic Hudson Valley.

Admission is FREE and open to the public.
