Reading and Discussion: Alyssa Songsiridej

Alyssa Songsiridej is currently working on a short story collection. While stylistically diverse, the pieces show young women in constrained circumstances who quietly desire a larger life even if they are not able to concretely define the life for themselves. They glimpse an expansive something else through friendships, jobs, politics, families, and ill-advised communal living situations, stumbling and reaching into their pasts or their imagined futures. She will share a reading of her new works and discuss it with the audience.
