Family Entertainment Summer Series

We are happy to announce that the Family Summer Entertainment Series will be back in Ossining parks this year, with events at Henry Gourdine Park, Market Square and Nelson Park.

Here is the lineup for this year:


July 6th Li Lui Acrobat

Li Liu was born in the city of Shenyang in The Northeast of China. At the age of six she began her acrobatic training, and the following year she was chosen to attend The Chinese National Circus School in the capitol city of Beijing. While in Beijing she trained for eight hours a day until she was 16.

In 1984 her artistic cycling act won a gold medal at the prestigious Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris, France. She often teamed with her sister Liu Ying to create duo acts that were conceived by her coach and father Liu Gui Ting. In 1995 their duo hand balancing act was selected to perform at The Wu Qiao International Circus Festival where they were awarded “The Golden Lion” prize.

For many years Ms. Liu traveled extensively throughout Europe, Africa and Asia with The Liaoning Acrobatic Arts Troupe. She performed with Zirkus Knie in Switzerland, Circus Krone in Germany and with countless other touring shows in Italy, Holland, France, South Africa, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia.

She came to the United States in 2000 with Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus and toured all over the US for two years. She has been living in the US and working as a freelance performer since 2003. She is a regular on the NBA & WNBA half-time circuits and is also is a featured performer on Princess Cruise Lines. In September of 2010 Li appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman.

July 13th Westchester Dance Artist

Westchester Dance Artists, originally known as Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists, was created in 2002 when founder and Artistic Director Debralyn Press invited a group of master artists to work with her in creating a dance and theater studio that would become a safe and exhilarating environment for artists in the lower Hudson Valley. In 2017, WDA moved to their new home at 157 Main Street in Ossining, New York.
WDA is dedicated to promoting growth and self esteem through the arts while at the same time imparting meticulous instruction in the performing arts.
WDA offers one of the best Summer Camps in Ossining. They also offer classes like ballet, Hip Hop, Break Dance, Contemporary, etc.

July 20th: Macaroni The Clown

Macaroni the Clown, Tom Mayes, is a 1982 graduate of the famous Ringling Brothers Clown College and is a full-time professional children’s entertainer. He is also a proud member of the World Clown Association.
Macaroni performs at over 400 events each year and is well known as a top-notch children’s entertainer in the Hudson Valley Region including: New York’s Orange, Rockland and Westchester counties, Sussex and Bergen counties in New Jersey, and New York City.
Macaroni’s many talents include: comedy magic, juggling, balloon sculpting, and unicycling.

July 27th: Comedian Ned Gelfars

Ned Gelfars, Comedy Juggler, was born in that wilderness called Brooklyn, where he first began throwing juggling balls into the air at the age of 12. Finally, at 15, he started catching them, & now, Ned rarely misses. His fast-paced & extremely funny show includes juggling, unicycling, & fire-eating, plus lots of hilarious, good-natured audience participation.
Ned’s spontaneous & zany performance, often billed as “The Ned Show,” has been enjoyed in hundreds of venues by thousands of children & adults throughout the globe.
This event will take place at Henry Gourdine Park

 August 3th: Abracabully with Mike Kirschner

The name of the program is called ABRACABULLY, The i.C.A.R.E program. i.C.A.R.E stands for individual, community, attitude, respect, and empathy. Through this acronym, Mike delivers his powerful bully story and educate children on what to do if they are being bullied or know someone being bullied. The show can be described as “Magic with a message”

August 10th: Family Zumba with Suzi Myers Tipa

A native New Yorker, Suzi began her dance career with the Windemere Ballet Theatre in Queens. Her passion for dance lead her to study many international folk dance styles with experts from around the world. Styles include Irish Step, Scottish Highland, Hawaiian hula, Russian, Ukrainian, Mexican, African, Italian, Appalachian clogging, Swing, Latin dance styles, Chinese, and Eastern European. As a member of AllNations Dance Company, she traveled to such exotic locations as Central and South America, Eastern Europe, China, and Brooklyn sharing a message of global understanding through the arts.

An actor as well, Suzi studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and improvisation at Chicago City Limits in New York City. Suzi has performed lead roles at the Emelin Theatre, Queens Theatre in the Park, and at the New York City International Fringe Festival. Her performance as Helena in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Lynch Theatre in Manhattan earned her a nomination for the Irene Ryan Scholarship at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. She has produced and performed sketch comedy at the Trilogy Theatre in Manhattan, and her credits also include film and television work. She is proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild.She has written, produced and performed sketch comedy, and currently dances with Pat Cannon’s Foot and Fiddle Dance Company. She is also a passionate Zumba instructor, teaching the Latin dance-based fitness class at locations throughout Westchester.
