Ossining Waterfront Concerts – RiverJam 2024

Beginning on Wednesday July 3rd 2024 bands will take the stage at Louis Engel Waterfront Park each Friday for a 7:00pm show. If rained out, rain date concerts start on Sundays at 5:00pm. 

The concert series features a variety of local performers and will run through August 23rd 2024. 

The musical acts will cover a wide range of genres from classic rock, pop, latin and jazz, to urban folk, funk, and R&B. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets or foldable chairs for seating.

Picnics are welcome and food and craft beer and wine will also be available for purchase from food trucks and tents. These open at 5pm on Fridays and 5pm on the Sunday rain dates. All concerts take place at Louis Engel Waterfront Park.

This event is Organized by the Town of Ossining with the help of the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce.

2024 RiverJam Band Line Up

Monday  July 3 at 5PM: Fireworks, Steel Passion and Homegrown
Concerts are 5PM and 7:30PM followed by fireworks.

Steel Passion
: Passion, an energetic steel pan and percussion ensemble based at Christ Episcopal Church in Tarrytown, NY, brings the vibrant sounds of the Caribbean to audiences across various regions. Consisting of a 12-member all-steel band, Steel Passion delivers a rich fusion of island rhythms, incorporating a diverse repertoire spanning Calypso, Pop, Jazz, Reggae, and even Classical genres. Since its inception in 1991, Steel Passion has been a fixture in the entertainment landscape of the tristate area, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances at prestigious venues such as The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC, Washington Irving Boat Club in Tarrytown, Pete Seeger’s University Settlement Camp in Beacon, and The Ossining Boat House, among others. Val Viera, a longtime Ossining resident, is the tenor 4 bass player to Steel Passion. With their infectious blend of Caribbean rhythms and global influences, Steel Passion invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of vibrant music and lively beats.

Homegrown Band Homegrown, a powerhouse in the realm of country rock, brings together seasoned talents from Back In The Day, High Five, and The Vigilantes. With their robust musical expertise, they deliver a joyful performance that resonates with audiences far and wide. From spirited guitar riffs to heartfelt vocals that capture the essence of the genre’s golden era, Homegrown offers an unforgettable country rock journey. Their repertoire spans from Keith Urban to Shania Twain, filled with hits that will make you want to two-step the night away. With something for every country music enthusiast and music enthusiast in general, Homegrown brings an infectious twang and groove to any stage, ensuring a memorable experience for all. Guitar player Chris Tesoro, a resident of Ossining since 1994 and a former coach of Ossining AYSO soccer and JCYS baseball, anchors the band with his deep ties to the community, infusing each performance with a personal connection to the town’s rich musical heritage.

 

Friday  July 12 at 7PM: The Boomer Brothers

Born and bred in Ossining, The Boomer Brothers are the hometown boys who bring a fusion of classic rock and a healthy dose of soul/R&B to the stage. With three out of four members graduating from Ossining High School in the late 70s and early 80s, their ties to the community run deep, proving that Ossiningites know how to rock and groove. Specializing in classic rock with a heavy emphasis on soul and R&B, The Boomer Brothers deliver performances that are as dynamic as they are diverse. Their setlists feature iconic hits from legends like Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and more, infused with the irresistible rhythms and grooves of R&B. House Arrest is a highly skilled and dynamic Pop and Dance cover band with over 10 years of experience performing in Westchester County. Comprised of talented musicians from the region, this band knows how to get audiences moving and grooving with their infectious energy and catchy tunes. With a strong performance history, including notable appearances at the Tiki Bar-Rye Playland, the Larchmont Summer Concert Series, and New Year’s Eve at Pete’s Saloon, House Arrest is a go-to choice for events and parties looking for a lively and entertaining band that specializes in Pop and Dance music. Friday July 26th at 7PM: Powderfinger


Powderfinger, a dynamic musical ensemble, captivates audiences across the tri-state area with their electrifying performances. Led by Bob Goetz on bass and vocals, and Norm Dodge on guitar and vocals, their seamless collaboration along with the rest of their full band delivers a diverse array of classic rock hits. Heard Immunity  isn’t your average band; they’re here to get you grooving to the electrifying tunes of the disco era, rock, and beyond. Founded in Ossining over seven years ago, the band proudly includes two local residents who also work in Ossining, Kishore Siva and Jean-Charles DeOliverira Scapaticci, infusing every set with a touch of Ossining’s own flavor. >Donnie Mariano–Born to play music. During the 60’s and into the 70’s he played with various bands that have toured and performed at iconic venues -including- Ungano’s, Action House, Trude Heller’s. He also has written and recorded numerous original songs and creative covers of classic tunes. NOW he is blessed to gig and record with so many great musicians including the Boomer Brothers.

By day a licensed Optician practicing on LI. By nite playing guitar in a Rolling Stone tribute band and bass with fav mates The Boomer Brothers!

>Rob Holm–Drumming since 10, singing since 20. Rob has performed as a drummer, harmony singer and singing drummer live and on record since the early 80’s. He has performed with many different artists, recorded on many different major and independent labels, has/had several albums, CD’s, etc…out at some time or another. Hs also toured the States and Europe. His drumming can also be heard in two major motion pictures.
Oh, and thoroughly enjoys performing with the Boomer Brothers!

>David Morton–While technically belonging to Gen X, this Long Island native sought out Billy Joel’s classical piano teacher as a child and has been playing with mainly original bands while also owning and operating technology companies.
