- Nelson Sitting Park
Ossining’s Nelson Sitting Park (open in Google Maps) is a great park across the street from Park School and less than a block from the larger Nelson Park. It’s located in the historic Old Village neighborhood.
Nelson Sitting Park is a square park with 2 paved paths that form an X and meet in a raised middle, surrounded by lots of grass, trees and quite a few benches. Despite all the benches, we’d venture a guess that there’s much more playing than sitting done in this park. The playground is a popular spot, with a large structure with 2 slides, monkey bars, a bridge and a number of climbing features.
Parking is available on Spring St, Everett Ave, Edward St and Washington Ave, but if you’re going during a school day it’s likely the Everett Ave and Edward St spots could be full.
