As spring blossoms forth, thoughts naturally turn to the joys of summer – a time of adventure, growth, and unforgettable memories for children. For families in Ossining and its neighboring communities, the quest for the ideal summer camp experience begins. 

From outdoor adventures to artistic pursuits, sports camps to STEM exploration, the options are as diverse as the interests of the children themselves. In this guide, we delve into the kaleidoscope of opportunities awaiting eager young campers in Ossining, offering a comprehensive overview of the enriching programs available and helping families navigate the path to crafting the perfect summer for their children.
Because this page is all about Ossining and because we feel strongly about supporting Ossining businesses, we’ll only add Camps and Summer Classes that take place in Ossining (Town and Village)

Ossining Summer Camp

 July 1st – August 9th.

– Pre-K Camp program is for 3 and 4 year old preschool children. This camp offers indoor and outdoor activities at Brookside School.
– K-1 Camp program is for children entering Kindergarten or Grade 1 in September 2024. This camp offers indoor and outdoor activities at Brookside School.
– Summer Camp @ Vets is for children who will be entering grades 2-5 in September 2024. This camp offers both indoor and outdoor activities at Vets Park and the Rec Center.
– Ryder Park Camp is for children entering grades 2-5 in September 2025. Campers will enjoy fun and games, arts and crafts, water play, entertainment and more on the courts, fields and playgrounds and under the Pavilion at Ryder Park
– Summer Travel Camp is back for kids entering grades 6 – 9 in September 2025.
Ossining Camp season is a 6 week program that runs from Monday, July 1 to Friday, August 9. There is no camp on Thursday, July 4. Camp hours are from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Campers should bring their own lunch, drinks and snacks daily.

Westchester Dance Artist

July 1st – August 16th

The Westchester Dance Artist Summer Camp offers an enriching and dynamic experience for young dancers in the K-8 age group. The camp provides a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses various dance styles, fostering creativity and self-expression. Participants not only refine their technical skills but also develop a deep appreciation for the art of dance. With a focus on inclusivity, the Westchester Dance Artist Summer Camp ensures that each child receives personalized attention and encouragement to thrive in their unique dance journey.

Summer Dance Camp

August 5th – 9th

Every day children will learn the basics in Ballet, Jazz, Tap & modern with the last day having a showcase. Also included each day of camp will be Crafts and Interactive games.

– Back to Basics: PreK – Kindergarten
Half Day 8:45am-12:00pm 
– Back to Basics: 1st grade – 3rd-grade
Full day 8:45am -2:00pm

The Camp of Witchcraft and Wizardry

 July 8th – July 28th

Housed on the beautiful Bethany Arts Community Campus in Ossining, NY, The Camp of Witchcraft and Wizardry is open to muggles ages 8-14. Staffed by Theater O, the camp explores the magical world through theater, art, music, puppetry, storytelling, games and more.

This creative program will run for three weeks, July 8th-July26th. It is for fans of The Boy Who Lived as well as all things fantastical and magical! Campers are sorted into houses, participate in a House Cup Competition complete with Tri-Wizard Challenges in the Forbidden Forest, daily quidditch matches (and, of course, a Quidditch Cup!) all with an artistic bent.

Fairytale Theater Camp

August 26th-30th

Spend a week exploring the traditional fairy tales with a twist! Every day campers make fairytale-themed crafts, sing original fairytale-themed songs, act out an existing story and make up their own.

 

Teatown Natural Science

Monday July 1st – Friday August 9th.

Teatown Camp brings kids outside to learn about and explore the natural world in their 1,000-acre preserve. In four two-week sessions, their age-specific activities encourage the spirit of discovery!
Campers catch frogs, collect bugs, climb rocks and explore natural habitats. Kids can discover and enjoy the outdoors via Teatown’s meadows, forests, lakes, and streams. 

Summer Rock Band Experience

July 8th – July12th and August 5th – August 9th

Under the guidance of experienced and talented musicians, your rocker will gain insight into what it’s like to be a part of a real rock band. From the exciting task of selecting a band name to the art of songwriting and rocking out to cover songs, they’ll be fully engaged in the entire creative process. The culmination of their week will be a thrilling concert, where they can showcase their achievements alongside their fellow musicians.

Bethany Kids Create Camp

August 5th – August 23rd

Join Bethany this summer for Bethany Kids CREATE Camp to explore the boundless limits of artistic expression. Each day campers will participate in multidisciplinary arts, theater, movement, nature, and community arts activities. A core element of CREATE will be a community art project in which campers will work together to build SOMETHING based on the group’s unique interests and curiosities.
Campers will embark on a nature adventure each day to engage with the natural environment at Bethany and use outside the box thinking (literally!) to make art. 

Ossining Children's
Center Summer Camp

July 8th – July12th and August 5th – August 9th

When school is out for summer, all OCC programs transform into camp with swimming, sports, arts and crafts, drama, and recreational field trips.

Toddlers and preschoolers enjoy reading, singing, outdoor play, water play, and healthy meals and snacks. Almost every day features an event-to-remember, such as: Author days, Carnival day, “Swimming” at the local private lake and traditional camp activities for school-age campers.

Their daily roundup includes sports, cooking, art and crafts, science, outdoor play, and more. To give camp that special dose of summertime 
Camp runs Monday through Friday from the first day to the last day of the Ossining Public Schools’ summer vacation, 7:00am to 6:00pm.

St. Augustine School Summer Camp

July 8th – August 2nd

SASC camp is designed to offer imaginative, creative, entertaining and educational experiences for your little ones! Have your child come explore the St. Augustine campus with new eyes and ears! SAS Summer Camp will incorporate stories, projects, games, sports and special activities each day! Your child should come ready to have some FUN!

Summer Sailing Academy

July and August

The Shattemuc Sailing Academy is one of the top sailing academies on the Hudson River. It offers comprehensive sailing instruction and boating safety for young people ages 9–16.

From beginner sailing skills to competitive racing techniques, Shattemuc offers young people an unforgettable summer experience on the majestic Hudson River. Since its inception in the 1960s, Shattemuc Yacht Club’s junior Sailing Academy has introduced hundreds of young people to the joys of outdoor activity on the water. The Academy’s goal is to turn novices into skillful, confident, safety-conscious sailors. 

Scarborough Presbyterian Church Summer Camp

Their camp program is organized for children 18 months to 5 years old. We provide a friendly, child-centered environment where children can be active in the fresh air, participate in water play, and enjoy the warm summer days. A child can attend one week, several weeks, or all six weeks. The teachers follow weekly themes for camp and create special days to enrich the curriculum. Each camp classroom has at least two teachers.
