Last month while walking the Ossining downtown with my family, we came across the Grand Opening of a new market, called Karma Market, on Spring Street.
We got there just in time for the ribbon cutting, which was followed by music, food, and an ice cream truck! My kids were excited and surprised the truck they always see around town was giving out ice cream “for free.”
After my kids had ice cream and my husband had some food, I went inside the market and was pleasantly surprised with it. The place was very clean and well organized, but my favorite thing was that they offer quite a few organic products, usually hard to find in a small market. You’ll find the most in the dairy and eggs section.
It was hard to find the price on some of the produce and there were some shelves still empty, but I understand sometimes not everything is ready on Grand Opening day. When I went back 2 weeks later, those problems were fixed.
Karma Market also has a small food bar.
This location had a market previously, but it was taken over and rebranded by the owners of Karma Lounge, a restaurant right up the street at 175 Main St.
Karma Market is located @ 31 Spring Street.
