Ossining Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Ossining Tree Lighting Ceremony is one of my favorite Ossining Annual Celebrations. There is music, hot cocoa and cider, treats, and caroling with friends and neighbors. Santa arrives in a fire truck, making it super special for the little ones.

According to the Village of Ossining and the Ossining Recreation and Parks Department the Christmas tree lighting tradition has been going on since the early 1950’s, when they would bring a new tree to the center of Main Street and gather to light it as a community and family.

Last year the Tree Lighting ceremony was held online, this year the event will be back at Market Square!
