- Sally Swope Sitting Park
Ossining’s Sally Swope Sitting Park (open in Google Maps) is a small wooded park off of Hawkes Ave. The park is on edge of the New Castle section of Ossining.
It’s a small park with a sitting area with a number of benches, and a fairly short looping trail through the woods. What it lacks in size it makes up for in peacefulness and natural beauty.
We recommend a stop here for lunch on the benches or to take a relaxing stroll through the woods. Alternatively, for longer trails on the riverfront, check out the Crawbuckie Nature Preserve.
Parking is available in a small lot at the entrance to the park.
