Ossining’s Ryder Park (open in Google Maps) is a large park in the Morningside Drive neighborhood. Located off Morningside Dr on Dynamite Rd (I’d like to know the story behind that name), Ryder is one of the largest parks in Ossining with 3 baseball/softball diamonds (1 large, 2 smaller), tennis courts, a small enclosed dog park, playground, pavilion with picnic tables and grills, basketball court at the pavilion, a challenge course and more.
The playground is fairly basic with swings and baby swings, 2 structures with 3 slides, and swinging and climbing features. You’ll have to keep an close eye on younger kids here.
Parking is available after you enter the park, in a few areas. Park down by the ball fields, at the playground or up at the pavilion.
Playground including slides, swings, climbing walls, rings/monkey bars and more.
Trails and a guided challenge course.
A basketball court with 2 baskets.
2 tennis courts.
Small fence-enclosed dog park in open field.
Baseball/softball diamonds and batting cages/hitting tunnels.
2 separate buildings with restrooms.
A covered area with picnic tables and grills.
Grills available, bring charcoal!
A field for playing soccer, football and other sports.
Picnic tables at the pavilion and playground.
Benches at the playground and elsewhere.
We had a wonderful time at this park. We celebrated our grand daughters 1st birthday party at Ryder park. It was well kept and the staff was very pleasant to us when we got to the park.
