Ossining Free Tours

A great way to explore and get to know our town is with 1 of the 3 Free Tours that Ossining has to offer!
From April through October, the Jug Tavern will conduct monthly walking tours of the historic Sparta neighborhood at the south end of Ossining. The tours are led by Dr. Alan Stahl, a neighborhood resident and former president of the Jug Tavern. Dr. Stahl teaches in the history department at Princeton University. For more info on the guided Sparta tours, go here.

The other 2 options are self-guided. Pick a nice day and get ready to explore the Downtown Walking Tour or the Museum in the Streets Tour. With either option, take a walk through time and discover neat facts and unique characteristics of the Downtown Ossining Historic District.

PDF versions of both self-guided tours are available below and can be downloaded and printed from the comfort of your own home. If you don’t have a printer, hard copies of walking maps and brochures are available at the Village of Ossining Department of Planning, Village Hall, Joseph Caputo Community Center, and the Ossining Public Library.
