Property Description

This no-step ranch is in Ossining’s well-known Indian Village area. It is on and surrounded by quiet streets, cul-de-sacs and children playing. You are a short walk to the Ossining Reservoir park and the Chilmark Shopping Center. The oversized level fenced yard looks like a football field from the covered patio. Lovely kitchen with tile and stone. Garage, dining room and finished lower level. A few-minute drive to Central Village, the amazing assortment of Ossining activities, and the train to NYC.

What's In the Area?

8  Osage Dr W is close to a number of Ossining’s many parks and playgrounds. Here are a few, with driving distance to each (per Google Maps):

It’s across the street from Richard Wishnie Park (.33 mile paved walkway around a reservoir). It’s 3 minutes to Arthur J Jones Park (great playground and small basketball court), 4 minutes to Veteran’s Park (LOTS to do here), 4 minutes to Buck Johnson Park (great playgrounds), 5 minutes to Ryder Park (playground, tennis courts, basketball court, trails, grills, small dog park, fields), 5 minutes to the Sing Sing Kill Greenway (beautiful stroll in the Sing Sing Kill gorge), 6 minutes from Snowden Avenue Park (fun playground, skate park), 6 minutes to Nelson Park (large fields, great playground, tennis courts, .35 mile paved path) and Nelson Sitting Park (fun playground), 6 minutes to Cedar Lane Park (dog park, Cedar Lane Arts Center, Organic Community Garden and more), 7 minutes to Sparta Park (playground, picnic tables and river views), 7 minutes to Crawbuckie Park and Nature Preserve (winding trails along the Hudson River in a beautiful setting), and 8 minutes to waterfront parks Henry Gourdine and Louis Engel (playgrounds, walking paths, grills, beaches, spray park and more). You can see pictures of each park at the links above.

You’re also 10 minutes to 1000-acre nature preserve Teatown Reservation, 4 minutes to the award-winning Ossining Public Library, 5 minutes to the Ossining Rec Center (and indoor pool) and 6 minutes to Main Street (Farmer’s Market and many restaurants, First Village Coffee, Sing Sing Kill Brewery and more).

What about supermarkets? Your closest supermarket is ACME Markets, at .3 miles away (7 minute walk/1 minute drive). CTown (in Ossining, great produce!), a 5-minute drive. You’re also 8 minutes from Stop & Shop (Ossining). You’re 5 minutes from Mrs. Greens (in Briarcliff, generally pricier organic food), 8 minutes from DeCicco (in Millwood, lots of tasty food and tons of craft beers), 15 minutes from Whole Foods (in Chappaqua) and 18 minutes from Trader Joe’s (Hartsdale). Wholesale clubs? BJ’s (in Yorktown) is 18 minutes, Costco in Yonkers is 20 minutes, and Costco in Port Chester is 25 minutes.
